The 2009 University of California men's water polo team, which finished 22-6 and made it to the finals of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament, had eight players recognized by the MPSF as members of the 2009 All-Academic Team, it was announced by MPSF executive director Al Beaird. Senior Mike Sample, juniors Brian Dudley and Zach White, sophomores Wil Toppen, Charlie Steffens and Travis Bickham, and redshirt freshmen Mason Cox and Spencer White, were all noted by the MPSF for their academic achievements.
