Tonneson and Clor Selected During Final Day of MLB Draft

Tonneson Highlights
University of California junior catcher Dylan Tonneson was selected in the 36th round by the San Diego Padres and sophomore right-hander Yasser Clor was selected in the 49th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates during the third and final day of the 2009 Major League Amateur Draft. Tonneson and Clor make seven players drafted from the 2009 Golden Bear squad. Besides Tonneson and Clor, junior center fielder Brett Jackson was selected in the first round by the Chicago Cubs, junior second baseman Jeff Kobernus was a second round pick of the Washington Nationals, junior right-hander/designated hitter/outfielder Blake Smith was a second round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers, junior left-hander Michael Bugary was a 15th round pick of the Boston Red Sox and senior third baseman/shortstop Michael Brady was a 24th round pick of the Florida Marlins. The seven players drafted in 2009 ties for the most Cal draftees since David Esquer became head coach in 2000. FULL STORY
