Spring 2017: Completed a tremendous career as a three-time doubles All-American and a run to the NCAA doubles semifinals with Maegan Manasse after helping lead Cal to the round of 16 in the NCAA team tournament…in their NCAA doubles run, the two Golden Bears beat Missouri’s 10th-ranked Amina Ismail and Bea Machado Santos, 6-2, 6-2, in the round of 32; N.C. State’s 22nd-ranked Martina Frantova and Anna Rogers, 6-4, 7-6(6), in the round of 16; and Florida’s 20th-ranked Brooke Austin and Kourtney Keegan, 7-6(3), 6-2 in the quarterfinals, before falling to Ohio State’s 18th-ranked Francesca Di Lorenzo and Miho Kowase, 6-2, 6-3, in the semis…Jansen and Manasse won all their doubles matches during the NCAA team tournament, beating San Jose State’s 88th-ranked Sybile Gauvain and Marie Klocker, 6-2, to clinch the point against the Spartans, LSU’s 16th-ranked Joana Valle Costa and Ryann Foster, 6-2, and Vanderbilt’s top-ranked Astra Sharma and Emily Smith, 6-4…the duo – ranked 34th during NCAAs in Athens, Georgia – earned a final Oracle/ITA ranking of No. 11 for the season…Jansen clinched six Cal wins during the dual-match season, starting with the 4-0 win over Missouri in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend final to qualify the Bears for the ITA National Women’s Team Indoor Championships…Jansen beat the Tigers’ Amina Ismail, 6-0, 7-6(0), at court-five singles…she also clinched against San Diego State (beating Mia Smith, 6-2, 6-3, on court 4), USC (Rianna Valdes, 6-4, 6-3, court four), Arizona State (Savannah Slaysman, 6-3, 7-5, on court 5), Sacramento State (Sofia Wicker, 6-2, 6-1, court 4) and, in a Pac-12 semifinal victory, USC (Angela Kulikov, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, court 5)…she compiled a 23-8 singles record, including 11-4 on court four and 5-1 on court three…Jansen was 25-9 in doubles, including 19-6 with Manasse.
Fall 2016: Jansen posted a 2-5 singles record in the fall…she partnered with Maria Smith to win two doubles matches at the ITA Northwest Regional Championships…partnered with Stephane Lin at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational and won two matches.
Personal/Previous: Born May 27, 1994...graduate student in the School of Public Health…two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete…two-time NCAA Doubles Champion (while at Alabama) with Erin Routliffe (2014, 2015)…with partner Routliffe, beat Cal team of Zsofi Susanyi and Klara Fabikova in the 2015 NCAA doubles final…ranked No. 1 nationally in doubles…national singles high of No. 59…two-time doubles All-American (2014, 2015)… 2-time ITA Doubles Team of the Year (with Routliffe) in 2014 and 2015…first team All-SEC in 2015…second team All-SEC in 2014…two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll…posted 70 singles wins and 81 doubles wins at Alabama in three years…redshirted in her 4th year at Alabama…earned a degree in public relations from Alabama…parents are Eva and Andy Jansen...has three sisters, Hanna (26), Lea (23), and Rhea (15)...played four years of varsity volleyball in high school…enjoys reading, listening to music, and being with friends…Lea Jansen played tennis at Washington State...mother, Eva, played volleyball at Oregon and was also a member of the Swiss national team.
