Cal-CSU Fullerton Postgame Quotes
Â
On game overall:
"I think I need to find a really good cardiologist. These guys aged me today. Hard-fought win, even when it went into overtime. We entered overtime a little deflated by the way it went into overtime -- (Fullerton) getting a layup -- but they didn't give up and we continued to fight. We really saw some resiliency, and saw some growth. After an overtime win, it helps the guys believe a little more that we can find a way to win, even when things aren't going well -- we're turning the ball over at a rapid pace, we're not necessarily hitting shots late — we found a way to pull it out."
Â
On overtime win:
"We like to stay positive. We found a way to pull it out, the guys went out and made their free throws. We didn't get some key stops in regulation, but I think we got the stops that we needed in overtime. It was an ugly game, but I'll take it."
Â
On instilling confidence in Darius McNeill:
"He is a talented young man. I had to do that -- give him the confidence he needed -- because he is young. He has never been through this before, and he had to know that I believe in him and trust him with this team. If I don't do that, then now he's wondering how I feel about him being my starting point guard as a freshman. As a staff, we have all the confidence in the world in him, and he's getting better and better at learning how to run the team. I'm happy with it."

California Junior Guard Don Coleman
Â
On what the team learned from this game:
"I would say the way we took care of business and finished it in overtime. We played well throughout the whole game, and they made tough shots. We felt like we were there the whole game contesting their shots and everything. They just made good shots, but we finished out and got the win, so that's all that matters."
Â
On Marcus Lee and Kingsley Okoroh's play tonight:
"Marcus and King were big. They protected the rim, got blocks, got rebounds, finished and got dunks. They were a big part of us getting the win today."
Â
Â
On his career day:
"In these past few games, I've just been really just scoring off jump shots and settling for jump shots. I was just trying to come out and show what I can really do. I wanted to show my package, which is staying aggressive, attacking, getting layups and easy points for the team in transition, so that was the mindset, and that's the outcome today."
Â
On what the team wants to accomplish ahead of Pac-12 play:
"I would say just to keep playing for each other on offense and defense, being in help on defense and playing together."
