Cal-Cal Poly Postgame Notes

  • With 30 points (8-13 FG, 3-6 3P, 11-14 FT), Don Coleman became the first Cal player to score at least 30 points in consecutive games since Ryan Anderson on Jan. 17-19, 2008. Coleman totaled 31 points in the opener against UC Riverside.
  • Combined with his 26 points in the season finale last year, Coleman is averaging 29.0 ppg his last three games.
  • Marcus Lee set a career high with 21 points (8-13 FG, 5-6 FT). His previous best of 17 point came against UNC Asheville on Nov. 8, 2013, while he was at Kentucky. Lee added 11 rebounds for his first double-double as a Golden Bear.
  • Kingsley Okoroh also broke his career high with 15 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 FT). He previously scored 10 points twice, most recently against Southeastern Louisiana on Nov. 27, 2016.
  • Through two games, the Bears have blocked 14 shots, including 5 vs. Cal Poly.
  • Freshman F Justice Sueing has reached double figures in both games this season. After chipping in 14 points vs. UC Riverside, he added 12 points against Cal Poly.
  • After shooting just 30.6% from the floor in its opener, Cal shot 70.8% from the floor in the first half (17-24) and 56.0% for the game (28-50).
  • Cal has gone to the free throw line 72 times in two games this year (33 vs. Cal Poly; 39 vs. UC Riverside).
  • Cal had one change to its starting lineup from Friday opener, with freshman F Justice Sueing getting his first career start.
