Memories of the Streak

With a win over UC Davis last Saturday, Cuonzo Martin's 2016-17 men's basketball squad achieved something just one other era of Bears can claim: 26 consecutive wins at home. The streak dates back to March 1, 2015 and includes three different teams, which featured players such as Jaylen Brown, Tyrone Wallace and David Kravish. Only Pete Newell's teams who played from Dec. 27, 1958 to Dec. 16, 1960 in Harmon Gym can claim an equal record.

Ahead of Saturday's potentially record-breaking contest with Cal Poly, the Bears look back at some of their favorite memories in Haas over the past 26 games:

"My favorite part would have to be just the support of the fans. I felt like we had the best crowd last year than any other year I was there. It was tremendous energy." - Tyrone Wallace

"Beating Oregon at home when they were ranked Top 10. It was big for me, and big for our team, because we dominated them all game, and they beat us at Oregon earlier in the year. Senior Day of last year was also special with Tyrone's big dunk against SC, and Nick Kerr came in and hit threes. Third, definitely the win against Arizona last year…winning a close nail-biter and having the crowd storm the court." - Jabari Bird

"Our game against Oregon last year was a highlight for me. Everyone had a great game against a really good opponent and we all gelled collectively. It was a real team effort and the chemistry was great." - Kingsley Okoroh

"My favorite memory was beating Arizona and rushing the court. That game was a Gold Out and it was so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves." - Roger Moute a Bidias

"Beating Arizona at the buzzer, clinching 18-0 vs. USC, our 30-point blowout of Oregon, the OT win against UC Irvine missing three starters...all of those mean something different to me but collectively it just is something no one can take away from us. We made history and we'll always be remembered here, which is special. The Irvine game was meaningful because we were down three starters and we willed ourselves to a win. The USC game finalized our historic season at Haas. Oregon came in Top 10 and we dominated from start to finish. Arizona we had full capacity and the fashion in which we won without Tyrone was special." - Sam Singer

"Going undefeated last year and finishing out the year with an 18-0 record in Haas was incredible." - Ivan Rabb

"My favorite memories in Haas during the win streak are storming the court against Arizona and Nick Kerr hitting threes on Senior Night." - Nick Hamilton

"The best part of Haas was our fans and our supporters. We felt like we couldn't let them down. We fed off their energy. They are amazing, and I can't wait to come back to a game. Berkeley is special." - Jaylen Brown

"The best part of our home win streak so far was going undefeated at home for the regular season last year! That feeling was great." - Stephen Domingo

"My favorite memory was when we stormed the court after the Arizona win last year." - Roman Davis

"My favorite Haas memory during our home win streak is getting two assists to Nick Kerr's back-to-back threes last season." - Brandon Chauca

"I would have to say that my favorite part about our home win streak is the fact that this record has been part of three different teams. Even though we may not realize it right now, this is an amazing accomplishment that will be with us forever. When we are older and looking back on it, the fact that we all get to say that we were part of a record-setting team and program is something we can be very proud of and hang our hats on. We will forever be a part of Cal history and to be a part of something that big in a community as strong as the Golden Bears, that's my favorite part about it all." - Cole Welle

Join the Bears Saturday when they play host to Cal Poly in Haas Pavilion and look to clinch the record-breaking 27th consecutive home win. The action tips off at 5 p.m., live on Pac-12 Network.
