On taking more shots and being more aggressive:
"Yeah, well I didn't shoot that many. I shot it at a good percentage. I've been working all summer on making threes and not being afraid to shoot, so coach obviously wants me to play at my strengths which is getting to the rim because I'm athletic and everything and also shoot the ball."
 
On Charlie Moore's game:
"Obviously the fact that he started could tell you that Charlie's a good player. As a freshman starting like that, that's big. Obviously he was a little bit nervous. He will be aright as he adjusts and gets used to it. I think he will be great for us"

On potentially dunking on fast break:
"No I wasn't. I don't really jump that high, to be honest. I was just looking at the guy behind me. I didn't want to create too much space so he could come over from behind and block it, so I tried to slow down to get into his body."
 
On Sam Singer's game:
"It's great. He's a really hard worker and he's a great teammate and to see a senior step up like that, in his senior year, it's huge. I think he give us a lot of intensity too so I'm sure there will be some game when shots aren't going in but his value on the defensive end is, we really need it. But it's awesome when he's banging threes and stuff like that because I know he works on that a lot too"

On the game:
"I think we came out pressing early to start. It took us a bit to get going offensively and once they got up on the 9-0 jump, we couldn't come back. Same thing happened in the second half, after our first basket they went on a heck of a run. We're still trying to find our rhythm offensively. Obviously tonight, we struggled really at the start of the game and then that portion of the second half. We know what we have to work on, now we just need to get to work.
 
On Cal's ability to deny post pressure:
"They did a great job. We knew it was going to be a battle trying to keep their big guy at the rim and we had to try to take advantage of that, and obviously we weren't so successful at that endeavor. Mike came out, rushed a couple early, had a couple get blocked and then we had a tough time getting them in there, and that allowed them to settle in defensively and in the paint."
 
On the first half run:
"Tevin (King) did a great job. He really had a lot of great moments for us. He was very aggressive, getting downhill to the basket, getting them in foul trouble. We got to the basket and got some late free throws on his behalf towards the end of the half. He's done a great job at that type of aggressiveness, and hopefully we can get some more guys to get in there and shake it up."
