ORINDA, Calif. - Current, past and future members of the California women's water polo team competed at U.S. Women's Senior National Tournament over the weekend at Miramonte High School and Campolindo High School. Diablo lost 8-4 in the championship game to Bruin Water Polo on Sunday at Miramonte High School.

"It has been a great summer for player development," Corso said.

Lauren Burke, Heather Stuart, Meghan Corso, Camille Hewko, Julie Oreglia, Laura Wood, Libby McLaren, Erika Hanson and Paige Lorenz all compete for Diablo. The team is coached by Cal volunteer assistant coach Maureen O'Toole-Purcell and Cal head coach Richard Corso. Wood and Oreglia each scored a goal in the championship game.

Diablo advanced to the final after defeating New York Athletic Club in a shoot out. Redshirt Stephanie Peckham played for Bruin Water Polo and was named the most valuable player for the tournament.
