BERKELEY - After a week off from competition, the No. 4 Cal women's water polo team dives back into the pool this weekend for the prestigious UC Irvine Invitational, which features 16 teams all ranked in the CWPA Top 20. The tournament is divided into four groups, with the Bears being joined by No. 16 Loyola Marymount, No. 5 Arizona State and No. 15 Cal State Northridge. Matches are played at UC Irvine's Anteater Aquatics Complex and Corona Del Mar High School in Newport Beach. Cal will play two matches on Saturday and two more on Sunday.

Csikos, Schroeder Pace Cal's Offense
Senior Emily Csikos and sophomore Tiera Schroeder are tied for the team lead with 20 goals this season. Csikos, a three-time All-American who took last season off to train with the Canadian Olympic Team, now has 187 goals during her career to place fourth on Cal's all-time list. Csikos needs just 26 goals to become the Bears' all-time leading scorer. Csikos scored 10 goals during the Princeton Invitational two weeks ago. Schroeder scored seven goals at the Princeton Invitational, one week after being named the KAP 7 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week.

Caron Comes On
After scoring two goals during her first four matches, sophomore Michelle Caron scored nine during the Princeton Invitational to put her fourth on the Bears with 11 this season. Caron transferred to Cal after scoring six goals as a freshman at USC last season.

Cal to Host 2013 MPSF Championships
The 2013 MPSF Championships will take place at the Spieker Aquatics Complex April 26-28. The seven teams from the conference -- six of which are currently ranked in the top-8 in the Collegiate Water Polo top-20 - will converge on Berkeley to try to earn the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. The tourney runner-up also has a strong chance at earning an at-large berth to the NCAAs.
