SAN JOSE, Calif.-California held San Jose scoreless for three periods and had a balanced scoring attack as the top-ranked Golden Bears defeated SJSU, 11-3, Saturday morning at the San Jose State Aquatics Center.
The Golden Bears scored three goals in the first and second periods and four goals in the third to seals the win. Sophomore Heather Petri and freshman Corey Miller each had two goals for California.
San Jose State was held scoreless for three periods until freshman Jennie Charleworth scored with 3:34 left in the game.
SJSU drops to 9-5 and 1-1 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, while Cal improves to 10-2 overall and 1-1 in the MPSF.
