Yet another one of Rich Feller's recruits to come to Berkeley with a distinguished resumé, Higgins has worked her way into the starting line-up with the No. 2 Golden Bears. She was Prepvolleyball.com's No. 11-ranked Senior Ace and a Fab 50 Senior by Volleyball Magazine. She was named to the USA Singapore Youth World Olympic Team and led her squad to a silver-medal finish and helped guide Sports Shack Volleyball Club to the gold medal at the 2010 Junior National Championships. Excellent Elly (Oct. 19, 2011): For some high school students, the prospect of committing to a program knowing that you would be playing behind an All-American for two years would deter them from choosing that school. But luckily for California, Elly Barrett was not dissuaded.

Cal Volleyball <3s Cal (Oct. 13, 2011): This year's Homecoming theme is I <3 Cal, and the California volleyball is no exception. On Oct. 12, the Golden Bears attended a Homecoming rally and will be celebrating Homecoming with two home matches. On Friday, Oct. 15, No. 4 Cal hosts No. 2 Washington in the FSN Match-Up of the Week at 7 p.m. at Haas Pavilion. Freshman Feature: Q&A With Michelle Neumayr (Oct. 2, 2011): Though she's not playing this season, freshman Michelle Neumayr should be a familiar face to the fans at Haas Pavilion as she cheers on her teammates while recovering from a torn ACL. While she cannot showcase her abilities on the court this year, Neumayr owns an impressive volleyball résumé. She was PrepVolleyball.com's No. 27 Senior Ace, and the American Volleyball Coaches' Association had her on its To-25 Underclassmen to Watch and 2010 High School Players to Watch lists. CalBears.com caught up with the San Mateo, Calif., native to find out more about Neumayr.

A "Dumb" Sport No More (Sept. 29, 2011): Growing up outside of Orlando, Fla., Correy Johnson was determined to play college basketball. A life-long hoopster, she had the athletic chops to become a scholarship player - including a state title on her résumé - and had even gone on multiple unofficial recruiting trips. But with some encouragement from her sister's now husband, who was a Florida state champion volleyball player himself, and an ultimatum of run cross country or play volleyball from her mother, Johnson picked up volleyball at age 16.

By the Numbers (Sept. 25, 2011): CalBears.com caught up with all of the Golden Bears to find out what made them choose they numbers they wear. Mr. Feller (and His Bears) Goes to Washington (Sept. 6, 2011): After completing its three games at the University of Virginia's Holiday Inn Jefferson Cup, the Cal volleyball team was fortunate enough to spend Sunday in Washington D.C. An early departure from Charlottesville, Va., gave the Golden Bears and staff extra time to explore the nation's capital.

Preseason Q&A With Rich Feller: The Returners (Aug. 22, 2011): In Part I of a preseason Q&A series with California volleyball head coach Rich Feller, he took us through the team overall. In Part II, it's time to focus on the returners. Though they lost two key student-athletes to graduation in Meagan Schmitt and AVCA Player of the Year Carli Lloyd, the 2011 Golden Bears return five starters and the libero from last year's NCAA finalist team. CalBears.com picked Rich Feller's brain about Elly Barrett as setter, if Tarah Murrey can duplicate her stellar 2010 season and how he sees the rest of the returners filling out the court.

Preseason Q&A With Rich Feller: The 2011 Campaign (Aug. 19, 2011): On the heels of the best season in the California volleyball annals, the Golden Bears appear ready to return to greatness this year. Last year, Cal won its first-ever Pac-10 title last season, tying Stanford for top billing, and advanced to the first national championship game in program history. The 2010 Pac-10 and AVCA Coach of the Year Rich Feller chatted with CalBears.com to discuss the upcoming season. Check back on Monday to get Feller's thoughts on the returners.

Season Review: 2010 California Volleyball (Dec. 23, 2010):The California volleyball team capped off a record-setting season with the program's highest year-end ranking as the AVCA tabbed the Golden Bears No. 2 in its final poll. When the dust had settled, a squad the other nine Pac-10 coaches selected to finish fifth at the beginning of the season earned its first Pac-10 title and set a new mark for most wins in a single season. The Bears (30-4 overall, 15-3 in the Pac-10) were led to new heights by the AVCA's pick for National Coach of the Year, Rich Feller, and its selection for National Player of the Year, senior setter Carli Lloyd.

No Hawarian Vacation (Oct. 9, 2010): California middle hitter Shannon Hawari has seen her share of difficulties as a highly-gifted volleyball player, but nothing could have prepared her for the hardship that came with a devastating injury she suffered in a match against Hawaii on Sept. 6, 2009.
