BERKELEY, Calif. - California outside hitter Angie Pressey earned a spot on the 2005 All-Pac-10 Women's Volleyball Team, the conference office announced today. A 5-8 sophomore from Heathrow, Fla., Pressey leads the 16th-ranked Golden Bears in kills (420) and kills per game (4.12), has a .250 hitting percentage (420k, 167e, 1014att) and was second on the team with 284 digs and 27 service aces.

Four Bears earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors: Senior outside hitter Jenna Brown, who was third on the team with 283 kills, hit .282 (283k, 103e, 639att) and ranked third on the squad with 85 total blocks during the regular season; senior middle hitter Alicia Powers, who hit .263 (265k, 101e, 621att) and was second to teammate Ellen Orchard with 113 total blocks (14bs, 99ba); junior setter Samantha Carter, who this year became Cal's all-time assist leader, with 4,250, and has a team-high 1,346 assists and 37 service assists this season; and junior libero Jillian Davis, who set a new Cal single-season digs record, with 499, and leads the Bears in digs per game (4.71).

Also, freshman Morgan Beck earned one of seven spots on the Pac-10 All-Freshman Team. A 6-3 outside hitter from Coto de Caza, Calif., Beck trailed only Pressey in kills (321) and in kills per game (3.24).

The Bears play Valparaiso in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 5 p.m. CT on Friday in Madison, Wis.
