BERKELEY - Cal senior middle hitter Shannon Hawari was named to the All-Pac-12 team Tuesday. Senior opposite hitter Correy Johnson earned honorable mention. Hawari ranks third in the Pac-12 with a .374 hitting percentage and is seventh with 1.20 blocks per set. She leads the Bears with 314 kills (2.75 kps). Hawari was All-Pac-12 honorable mention in each of the past two seasons. Johnson received honorable mention despite missing 24 sets early in the season because of a stress reaction in her leg. Johnson averages 2.54 kills per set at a .282 hitting percentage while also blocking 0.94 balls per set. Oregon outside hitter Alaina Bergsma was named the Pac-12 Player of the Year, Stanford's John Dunning was named Coach of the Year and USC outside hitter Samantha Bricio was tabbed as the Freshman of the Year. Oregon's Lauren Plum was the Setter of the Year and USC's Natalie Hagglund was the Libero of the Year. Cal begins its 11th straight NCAA Tournament on Thursday at 3 p.m. when it meets North Carolina for a first-round match in Ames, Iowa.
