BERKELEY - Carli Lloyd was masterful as she guided the No. 5 Golden Bears to a four-set victory over No. 2 Stanford (21-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-16) on the road, making the senior setter the California Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week. Lloyd dished out 52 assists and led Cal to a .347 hitting percentage against a Cardinal squad that was only allowing opponents to attack at a .155 rate entering the evening. Lloyd's second assist of the night pushed her across the 5,000-assist plateau in her career. She now has 5,050 and is only the second Bear and ninth player in Pac-10 history to record 5K assists. Lloyd was deceptive at the net where she earned five points on kills off of dumped passes to hit .308 herself. When she set her middles and opposites on quick sets and slide plays, her pin-point accuracy allowed them to post hitting percentages of .588, .571, and .333. Lloyd also added seven digs and four blocks to her final line. Her second block moved her into ninth place at Cal for all-time career blocks, ahead of former middle hitter Mindi Wiley. She is the only setter on Cal's top ten list for blocks. Muscle Milk California Student-Athletes of the Week
