Haas Pavilion - Berkeley

BERKELEY - Esteemed fans of the California volleyball team can get their first glimpse of the 2012 Golden Bears at the annual Blue & Gold Scrimmage on Aug. 18. Warm-ups are slated for 3:30 p.m. in Haas Pavilion, and admission is free for all. The Bears will face off against each other in a full-match simulation.

Cal returns four starters and a libero from last year's squad. The Bears have six student-athletes returning that played on the 2010 national runner-up team in seniors Robin Rostratter, Shannon Hawari, Correy Johnson and Kat Brown along with juniors Adrienne Gehan and Erin Freeman. After a successful freshman season, Lillian Schonewise, Lindsey Parrott, Marlee Davis and Christina Higgins are set for their sophomore seasons

The Blue & Gold scrimmage will be the first chance for fans to see the five newcomers. Leading the way will be junior setter Joan Caloiaro, who transferred from San Francisco. Also donning the Blue & Gold for the first time will be freshmen Nikki Gombar, Lara Vukasovic, Mary McKennon and Katarina Milosavljevic. Though technically a freshman after redshirting last year, Michelle Neumayr is no stranger to Haas Pavilion as she sat out last season with a knee injury.

Season and single-match tickets are currently available for purchase. While purchasing single-match tickets ahead of time saves money over walk-up tickets, season tickets give fans a 50-percent discount per ticket, and they are still available for purchase. In addition to the cost savings, season-ticket holders receive four free tickets to the Stanford match, two free tickets to the UCLA match along with two "you pick" tickets to any regular-season match. All season-ticket holders are invited to exclusive season-ticket holder events as well as chances to win team gear and more!

The 2012 season gets underway in San Diego against Delaware and San Diego State on Aug. 25. The Bears open their home campaign Sept. 6 versus Jiangsu, a Chinese club team. From there, Cal hosts the Cal Molten Classic Presented by Hilton Garden Inn, featuring UC Riverside, Northern Arizona and Penn. To see the full 2012 schedule, please click here.
