BERKELEY - CalBears.com will host a live chat via CoverItLive with California volleyball setter Elly Barrett on Tuesday, May 3, beginning at 1 p.m. PT. Fans can point their browsers to CalBears.com--the official athletic website of the University of California--and navigate to the volleyball home page to access the chat module. Registration is not required.

As the incumbent starting setter for the Bears, Barrett has big shoes to fill with the departure of three-time AVCA All-American Carli Lloyd. Barrett comes complete with a distinguished list of honors and has added two years of varsity experience to her tool belt as the 2011 season approaches. She appeared in 13 matches and 27 sets last season, all victories for the Bears. Her honors prior to arriving in Berkeley include being a Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 selection in 2008 and a 2008 Max Preps All-American as well as a 2009 Texas Coach's All-Star team selection. She was PrepVolleyball.com's No. 12 Senior Ace and was a 2008 UnderArmour High School All-American.
