Cal Falls to Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore. - California women's volleyball team lost to Oregon State on Friday in three straight games, 15-10, 16-4 and 15-7. The loss drops the Bears to 6-13 overall, 1-9 in the Pac 10. The win improves the Beavers to 12-10, 4-6 in the Pac 10.

Pia Ahlengard led the way for OSU with 17 kills and 12 digs, both match highs. Heather Lowe had 10 kills for the Beavers, who hit .233 and blocked 13 Golden Bear shots.

Cal was led by junior Elena Berman, who had 13 kills, while both Alicia Perry and Michelle Wickman had 11 kills. Jennifer Kristie had a game high 15 digs for the Bears, who hit just .071.

Cal takes on Oregon on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The Beavers will face Pac-10 leader Stanford on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
