Final Stats

EUGENE, ORE. - The No. 14-ranked California women's volleyball team (10-2, 3-0), behind double figure kills from Angie Pressey, Morgan Beck, Alicia Powers and Jenna Brown, defeated Oregon (10-4, 0-3), 3-1 (30-25, 30-16, 28-30, 33-31) Thursday night at McArthur Court in Eugene. It was Cal's 13th consecutive victory over the Ducks.

Sophomore standout Pressey, who was last week's Pac-10 Player of the Week after the Bears swept UCLA and USC for the first time in school history, led Cal with 15 kills - the 10th time out of 12 matches this season she has led the Bears in kills. Freshman Beck was next on Cal's kill list with 14 kills, followed by seniors Powers and Brown with 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Brown also notched 11 digs and had five total blocks (two block solos) on the evening.

Other Bear standouts included junior libero Jillian Davis, junior setter Samantha Carter and sophomore middle blocker Ellen Orchard. Davis led Cal with 21 digs, Carter finished with 48 assists and two service aces, and Orchard hit .357 (6k, 1e, 14att) with a career high nine total blocks (two block solos, seven block assists).

Oregon was led by 17 kills from freshman outside hitter Mira Djuric, and 15 kills and three service aces from Kelly Russell.

Cal continues Pac-10 action Friday, Sept. 30, with a 7 p.m. match against Oregon State at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Ore.
