Murrey enters her SOPHOMORE season with the Golden Bears as an outside hitter... helped lead the USA A2 Blue Team to a bronze medal at the 2009 USA Adult Open Volleyball Championships.
2008
As a FRESHMAN, Murrey earned Pac-10 All-Freshman team honors... appeared in all 33 matches... ranked third on the team in total kills with 277 and in kills per set (2.43 kps)... posted a double-double performance with 10 kills and 12 digs in her seventh match (Sept. 13 vs. Notre Dame)... set career high marks for kills (21), attacks (50) and digs (19) in a double-double performance against UCLA Nov. 21... ranked fourth on the team in total digs with 177 (1.55 dps).
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
One of Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50 high school players, as a senior at St. Mary's College High School in Berkeley, Calif., Murrey earned 2007 Bay Shore Athletic League MVP honors for the third consecutive season... 2007 California Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year, first-team All-Bay Shore League... played in the 2007 World Championships for the USA girl's youth national team... as a junior in 2006, selected Bay Shore Athletic League MVP, Contra Costa Times Player of the Year, first-team All-Bay Shore League, PrepVolleyball Dream Team, Norceca World Championship MVP, Norceca World Championship Best Spiker Award, Norceca World Championship Top Scorer Award... as a sophomore in 2005, selected Bay Shore Athletic League MVP and Prep Volleyball's Sophomore Top 79 List... a four-year member of the Golden Bear Volleyball Club.
PERSONAL
Tarah Lynnette Murrey was born in Santa Clara, Calif.... parents are Douglas and Barbara Murrey... father played basketball for San Jose State and was selected in the ninth-round of the 1981 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors... mother played volleyball for San Jose State in 1978-79... has two brothers, Jerryck (24), Russell (23), and a sister, Brittney (22)... Brittney is the starting setter for UC Riverside's volleyball team... has not declared a major.
