Finished her SENIOR season as one of the most prolific student-athletes to ever suit up for the Bears...AVCA National Player of the Year, first-team All-American, named to the AVCA All-Pacific Region team...placed on the NCAA Division I All-Championship Team and heralded as the Seattle Regional MVP...one of 10 finalists for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and named to the Pac-10 All-Conference Team and to the Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team...three-time Cal Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week and called the Oct. 26 player of the week for Sports Imports/AVCA And Pac-10 Conference...made the Cal Molten Classic and Hilton Garden Inn Classic all-tourney squads...Cal's only All-American setter...ended her senior season second on the school's all-time assists list ladder with 5,697, a mark that is also good for sixth all-time in the Pac-10...competed her career with 398 blocks and a .277 hitting percentage, both placing her fifth all-time at Cal...only setting among the top 10 on either of those lists...just the third setter in all of Cal history to log more than 1,000 digs in her career...her 1,384 assists in 2010 was also the eighth highest mark in program history and gave her four of the top nine single seasons for assists at Cal...helped lead the USA A2 Blue team to the gold medal at the USA Adult Open Championship in Phoenix over the summer... earned a selection to the Adult Open All-Tournament Team... only player in USA Volleyball history to be selected to the A2 team on three separate occasions.
As a JUNIOR, Lloyd received her second AVCA All-America second team selection and earned her second consecutive honor on the AVCA All-Pacific Region team... named to the NCAA Gainesville Regional All-Tournament team... Pac-10 All-Conference honorable mention and conference All-Academic honorable mention... selected to preseason all-tournament teams at both the Nevada Marriott Courtyard/Fairfield Invitational (Reno, Nev.) and the Molten/Hilton Garden Inn Classic (Berkeley, Calif.)... named Cal Muscle Milk Stu-dent-Athlete of the Week, Sept. 28... recorded nine double-double matches (assists and digs)... set the eighth-best single-season mark for assists at Cal with 1,371... moved into second at Cal in all-time career assists with 4,313... set and matched a new career high with nine kills, last reaching that mark at Stanford, Nov. 27... logged a career-high 17 attacks at Stanford, Nov. 27... matched career high with 18 digs at Stanford, Nov. 27... recorded 59 assists in two matches this season... led the team with 11.24 aps (fifth in the Pac-10 and 23rd in the country)... second in digs with 2.33 dps... second on the team in attack percentage (.316, 121k, 27e, 297att)... helped the USA A2 Blue team to a bronze medal at the USA Adult Open Championship in Indianapolis over the summer.
As a SOPHOMORE, Lloyd was selected to the AVCA All-America second team and the UnderArmour/Volleyball Magazine Women's College All-American second team... named to the All-Pac-10 team and the AVCA All-Pacific Region team... selected for Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention... chosen as outstanding setter and MVP of both the Cal Molten Classic and the Golden Bear Invitational... named to the all-tournament team at the Diet Coke Classic and the Crowne Plaza Volleyball Classic... selected as Pac-10 Player of the Week twice (Aug. 31 and Oct. 20)... named Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week (Oct. 20)... led the team and ranked third in the nation with 12.00 assists per set... her 1,392 assists rank sixth for Cal all-time single season records... second on the team with 281 digs (2.42 dps) and third on the team in service aces (17) and hitting percentage (.319, 96k, 27e, 216att)... reached a new career high with seven kills at Arizona State Nov. 8... matched career highs in service aces (three) and digs (18 against UCLA Nov. 21)... helped the USA A2 Red Team to an Adult Open title in Atlanta, Ga., over the summer.
As a FRESHMAN, Lloyd earned Pac-10 All-Freshman team honors as she led the Bears in total assists with 1,550 (second-best Cal all-time single-season total) and a 12.81 assist per set average... named to the NCAA Wisconsin Regional all-tournament team (the first Cal freshman to receive the honor)... appeared in 34 matches and all but two of Cal's 121 sets as a true freshman... finished the season fourth on the team in total blocks with 111 (7bs, 104ba)... logged seven double-double matches this season... registered a career-high 18 digs against UCLA Sept. 27 to go with 54 assists... set a career-high mark by putting up 69 assists at USC Oct. 26... helped Cal to a historic victory at UCLA Oct. 27 with 63 assists and 13 digs... had 65 assists and 17 digs versus Duke Dec. 1 in the NCAA second round... named Outstanding Setter of the Cal Molten Classic and the Golden Bear Invitational Outstanding Setter.
Lloyd was a PrepVolleyball.com Fab 50 Selection for four straight years... named 2005 CIF Player of the Year, 2006 CIF Player of the Year, 2006 San Diego Division I CIF Player of the Year and the 2007 San Diego Division I CIF Player of the Year as the starting setter at Fallbrook High School in Fallbrook, Calif.... selected 2006 Avocado League MVP and 2007 Avocado League MVP... named Fallbrook High School Female Athlete of the Year for 2006-07... 2006 San Diego Hall of Champions Inductee... 2007 Andi Collins Outstanding Setter Award... led her club team, Epic 18-I to a third-place finish at the 2006 Junior Olympics... named 2006-07 Junior Olympic all-tournament selection... also a standout track athlete, earning 2005 Avocado League Track Athlete of the Year honors and was a two-time All-Avocado League selection... CIF and state qualifier in the 110-meter hurdles and the long jump, and was the 1998 Long Jump National Champion... four-year Principal's Honor Roll student.
Carli Ellen Lloyd was born in Fallbrook, Calif.... mother, Cindy Lloyd, is an assistant volleyball coach at Fallbrook High School... uncle, Galen Tomlinson, has been her mentor and coach in both volleyball and track and field... Tomlinson is better known as Turbo from the 1980's television series, American Gladiator... grandfather, Doug Tomlinson, is a former MLB player with the Cleveland Indians... sister, Coral, 26, and brother, Doug, 24... majoring in social welfare with an emphasis in education.
