Bears Fall to Fourth Straight Loss
Notre Dame, IN -- The University of California volleyball team suffered its fourth straight loss Saturday, falling to New Mexico in five games (15-13, 9-15, 15-12, 6-15, 15-13) at the Notre Dame Tournament of Champions. The Bears are now 5-5 on the season.
Senior Jessica Dinaberg led the Bears with a season-high 23 kills and 20 digs, while junior Elena Berman added 18 kills. Sophomore Brook Coulter, the lone Bear named to the All-Tournament team, contributed 16 kills and 24 digs, and sophomore Kellie Alva added 16 kills and 7 blocks.
In the tournament championships match, #14 Texas A&M downed #25 Notre Dame in three games.
Cal returns home next weekend for a pair of Pac-10 matches against Oregon and Oregon State in the RSF Fieldhouse on campus.
