BERKELEY - Annie Goransson will be busy this weekend. The Cal women's tennis senior is playing in and starting a Zero Waste program at the Cal Nike Invitational, which runs from Friday, Sept. 28, through Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Hellman Tennis Complex and Channing Tennis Courts.

Zero Waste means that all discarded material is recycled, composted or reused. Nothing is sent to the landfill. Cal women's tennis is participating in the campus sustainability efforts and strives to make the Cal Nike Invitational a zero waste tournament. The Campus Recycling and Refuse Services will provide bins for compostables, recyclables and waste, and student volunteers will help fans and visitors identify what product goes where.

The Cal Nike Invitational starts at 8 a.m. on Friday.
