WASHINGTON, D.C. - With three members of the Washington Kastles away for the Olympics, the World TeamTennis organization has signed former Golden Bear All-American Raquel Kops-Jones to a contract for the remainder of the season.

On Sunday, the Kastles acquired Kops-Jones, who is ranked in the top 20 in the world in doubles, as a wild card. She will join Edina Gallovits-Hall and Treat Conrad Huey as new members of the roster.

With Leander Paes, Anastasia Rodionova and Venus Williams en route to the Olympic Games, a pair of substitutes and a wild card will play with veterans Bobby Reynolds and Arina Rodionova.

Kops-Jones is currently ranked a career-best No. 19 in the world after reaching the Wimbledon quarterfinals and winning the Carlsbad WTA championship on Sunday. She and Abigail Spears defeated World No. 1s Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond en route to the title. Kops-Jones has now won five WTA titles in her career.

While at Cal, Kops-Jones teamed with Christina Fusano to win the 2003 NCAA doubles championship. The 2004 Pac-10 Player of the Year as a senior was ranked No. 1 in the nation in singles by the ITA during her college career. She advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA's in both 2003 and 2004.
