BERKELEY - The No. 5 California women's tennis team had six players earn Pac-10 All-Academic honors for the 2006-07 season as announced today by Commissioner Tom Hansen. Sophomore Claire Ilcinkas was named to the all-conference second team, and her 3.60 GPA topped the rest of the players on that team. Five other Golden Bears were honorable mentions.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor.

The five Bears who garnered honorable mention status were senior Zsuzsanna Fodor, junior Susie Babos, junior Stephanie Kusano, redshirt sophomore Daron Moore and sophomore Bojana Bobusic.

Cal ended the 2006-07 season ranked No. 5, its 19th Top-10 finish since 1982. The Bears reached the NCAA semifinals for the sixth time when they upset No. 2 seed and host Georgia, 4-1, in the quarterfinals.
