Athens, GA - Freshman Suzi Babos was named the Intercollegiate Tennis Associations National Player to Watch for NCAA Division I women's tennis, as announced by the ITA tonight during a banquet at the University of Georgia's Rankin Smith Academic Center.

The ITA National Player to Watch Award goes to a highly-ranked non-senior player who has had an outstanding season, has not yet won an ITA national singles title, but is expected to contend for one in the future.

Babos made her impression on the national scene by reaching the singles final at the ITA National Indoor Championships last fall. She is ranked No. 8 in the latest ITA national singles rankings and No. 37 in doubles.

The award is Babos' latest accolade, which also include being named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and first team All-Pac-10.
