BERKELEY - Behind a 0.54 ERA performance by Jolene Henderson, the No. 1 Bears beat No. 14/18 Oregon 8-1 on April 20 and 10-0 (in six innings) on April 22 - making her this week's Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week. "We faced adversity this weekend in a really good Oregon team," Henderson said. "We really stepped it up big to play as a team. I'm really proud of the team. The defense and offense was great behind me." Henderson powered the Bears to the key Pac-12 Conference games in Duck territory, where the Bears had been swept by Oregon the last time they ventured north. Henderson allowed just one earned run across 13 innings of work, netting two victories in the circle for herself and the top-ranked Bears. She fanned a combined 14 with eight of those coming in the seven-inning win on Friday. In Sunday's win - which was paramount for the Bears to take their fourth conference series - Henderson pitched a three-hitter. This is Henderson's third weekly laurel of the 2012 season and ninth of her already storied Cal career.
