OKLAHOMA CITY - Playing in front of Oklahoma's home field crowd, the California softball team could not get more than two hits off of Sooner southpaw Keilani Ricketts, failing 3-0 to Oklahoma on Friday evening on the second day of the Women's College World Series. After Lauren Chamberlain drove in the first run, Cal battled with the bases loaded and no outs with three straight groundouts. Keilani Ricketts walked in a run in the top of the fourth to make it 2-0. The Sooners got their lead-off hitter on in each of the first four innings. Cal, on the flip side, did not get a baserunner to third until the bottom of the sixth. Top of the Third - Oklahoma 1, Cal 0: Georgia Casey walked on six pitches, advanced to second when Destinee Martinez singled through the left side and scored on a Chamberlain double to right-center. Top of the Fourth - Oklahoma 2, Cal 0: Norris was hit by pitch, went to second when Javen Henson reached on an error at third and to third when Chamberlain singled up the middle. With the bases loaded and two outs, Ricketts walked on seven pitches. Top of the Sixth - Oklahoma 3, Cal 0: On the ninth pitch of her at-bat, Casey took a shot sky high to left-center for a solo homer. Next Time on the Diamond: The Bears face the winner of the Tennessee-Oregon game on Saturday evening.
