LEXINGTON, Ky. - After being on the losing end of a one-hitter in the first game of the Lexington Super Regional, Kentucky exploded offensively for an 8-0 mercy win in five innings on Sunday afternoon. With the series knotted at 1-1, the Golden Bears (43-11) and Wildcats (40-15) meet in game three of the Lexington Super Regional at 3:35 p.m. ET/12:35 p.m. PT. After 21 consecutive scoreless innings of pitching by Jolene Henderson, the Wildcats scored three runs off three hits in the bottom of the first to earn an early 3-0 lead. Kentucky tacked on two runs in the second, one in the third and two more in the fourth. Jolene Henderson started the game and suffered the loss - only her eight of the year - after allowing five earned runs on six hits. Freshman hurler Arianna Erceg pitched two innings, giving up three earned runs on five hits. The mercy loss was just Cal's third of the season. For the second game in a row, freshman second baseman Victoria Jones had a team-high two hits. Jace Williams, Lindsey Ziegenhirt and Elia Reid accounted for Cal's other three hits. Center fielder Meagan Aul had a game-high three RBI off one hit. Megan Yocke got UK's first hit with a grounder up the middle. Kara Dill singled through the right side for a single, moving Yocke to third and advancing to second herself on the throw in. A single past a diving Britt Vonk at short by Meagan Aull plated Yocke and Dill for a 2-0 lead. Brittany Cervantes hit a 6-4 ground out, but Aull came home to score. A pair of hits and a walk loaded the bases for Dill, who dropped a hit into shallow left field to plate Alice O'Brien. A sacrifice fly by Aull scored Annie Rowlands. Rowlands doubled to the wall in center in the bottom of the third to score the sixth run of the game. With two runners on and two outs in the bottom of the fourth, Samantha DeMartine doubled to the wall in right center.
