Club Ball:

Personal:

Chose Cal because she has been rooting for Cal softball since she was a kid and for its strong academics, top engineering program and school energy...Mother, Barbara Lee, attended Purdue University and father, Jason Lee, attended Cal...Has a wing span of six feet...Played all nine positions at some point between high school and travel ball...Volunteered at the Del Mar Library and in the youth recreational North Shore Girls Softball League

Walk-On Wonder: Mary tried out for the Cal softball team this past fall, and made the team. Mary noted that she planned to keep attending practice until someone told her no, and no one ever did because she's so great.

Brainiac Alert: Mary is majoring in mechanical engineering. She interned at Maxwell Technologies and participated in the FIRST FRC Robotics Competition as a senior in high school. She would like to pursue a career in the field of human prosthetics or aerospace.

Destined to Be a Bear: Mary's Cal roots run deeper than any of the other first years for she has been a Golden Bear fan for years. Lee attended her first Cal football game at age three and her first softball game - one against Stanford - at age 10, so selecting Berkeley was an easy choice for the San Diego native. Her father, Jason, attended Cal.

Why I have my number:

When No. 22 was offered to me, I was excited to have it. I was No. 2 in high school, so what could be better than two No. 2's?

Pre-game Rituals and Game Superstitions:

I always braid my hair the same way and make sure not to step on the foul lines.

Walk-up Songs: "Bad to the Bone" by George Thoroughgood - I've had it as my walk-up son since high school and it's a fun way too characterize myself... "Something Like That" by Tim McGraw because it relaxes me and makes me smile.
