BERKELEY - On a sunny Monday morning at Edwards Stadium, for California women's soccer head coach Neil McGuire and junior defender Danielle Brunache, it was [natural sun] lights...camera...action! Chelsea Brown interviewed the pair for the CalBears.com weekly video feature `This Week at Cal,' which highlights the exciting athletic action on the Berkeley campus. The video feature will preview the Golden Bears' most challenging nonconference game this week - No. 3 Portland on Thursday, Sept. 23. The match, which will kick off at 3 p.m. at Edwards Stadium and is free to attend, pits Cal against another perennial powerhouse in the Pilots. Last week, three of the four national polls placed Portland third while TopDrawerSoccer.com is the lone poll out, heralding UP at No. 4. The Pilots hold the all-time advantage at 5-3-2, taking the past four matches, including a 4-0 win last season. In the interview, Brown inquired about what Cal needs to do this week to be successful against the Pilots. She and her interviewees also discussed how the Bears have outscored their opponents, 24-6, this season. Brunache is a member of Cal's stingy backline which has allowed just the six scores. Brown, McGuire and Brunache filmed the segment at Edwards Stadium thanks to help from Cal video and media relations personnel. This Week at Cal will go live on CalBears.com on Tuesday afternoon.
