Bears Extend Winning Streak to Three

Win 1-0 at Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. -- The California women's soccer team notched it third straight victory and improved to 8-7-1 (3-3, Pac-10) on the season with a 1-0 victory over the Oregon Ducks Friday afternoon. The loss dropped Oregon to 4-13-1 (1-6 Pac-10) on the season.

Jill Stephenson made six saves to registered her fifth shut out the season and Amy Balavac netted her third goal of the year on an assist from Courtney Carroll in the game's 50th-minute for the victory.

Cal registered nine shots on the afternoon and limited Oregon to six as the Bears outshot their opponent for the tenth time in 16 matches. Cal has not allowed a goal since they were beaten, 2-1, by USC on Oct. 12.

The Bears will wrap-up their two-game swing through the State of Oregon when they travel up the road to Corvallis to face Oregon State on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 12:00 noon.
