BERKELEY -
The California lacrosse team will take the field on Saturday, Oct. 6, as part of the seventh annual U.S. Lacrosse Stars & Stripes event, which will be held in California for the first time, taking place at two locations - Stanford and Burlingame High School in Burlingame, Calif. The Golden Bears will square off against the Canadian National team at 10 a.m. and the U.S. National team at 4 p.m. Both of Cal's games will be played at Burlingame High School.
The event features top international and collegiate women's lacrosse action, and the seven-team field is the largest in the history of this exhibition event, featuring four premier international teams as well as three collegiate programs.
The four other teams competing in the event are Stanford, Rikkyo University (Japan), and the national teams from England and Australia.
While Cal will only be competing on Oct. 6, the entire Stars & Stripes event takes place from Oct. 3-7. Oct. 6 will be the only day that competition will take place at Burlingame High School.
