BERKELEY - California placed nine Golden Bears on the MPSF Women's Lacrosse Academic All-Conference team, the conference announced on Monday. Cal seniors Morgan Dyson (goalkeeper), Ghillie Little (defender), Stephanie Smith (defender) and Elizabeth T Jahp (midfielder); juniors Tighe Hutchins (midfielder), Alyse Kennedy (midfielder) and Alex Tickner (midfielder); and sophomores Emily Abbood (midfielder) and Chapin Jackson (midfielder) earned the MPSF's academic accolades.

The Bears earned MPSF academic distinction on the basis of the following criteria:

1. 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average.
2. Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically.
3. Student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is being received.
4. Student-athlete must have competed in fifty percent or more of the institution's competition in his or her respective sport.

The Bears completed their 2009 season with an 8-11 record and an appearance in the MPSF Tournament championship game.
