BERKELEY - California placed nine players on the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team, the conference announced on Friday. The Golden Bears contingent included two seniors in attacker Alyse Kennedy and midfielder Alex Tickner; two juniors in midfielders Emily Abbood and Chapin Jackson; and five sophomores in attacker Tara Arolla, defender Tori Harrison, midfielder Vail Horn, midfielder Lauren Johnson and defender Melissa Sheehan. Arolla's 3.537 grade-point average led Cal, with Jackson's 3.516 second. To earn a spot on the MPSF All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must meet the following criteria: 1. Hold a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average. 2. Student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically. 3. Student-athlete must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is being received. 4. Student-athlete must have competed in fifty percent or more of the institution's competition in his or her respective sport. Cal ended its 2010 season with an 8-10 record, after falling to then-No. 15 Stanford, 9-7, in the MPSF Tournament semifinal round. 2010 MPSF Women's Lacrosse All-Academic Team (Cal players) Emily Abbood
