BERKELEY - Stanford co-head coach Jen Kasper commented on her team's 9-8 upset of top-seeded Denver in the MPSF Championship final on Saturday at Memorial Stadium:

"It's just a phenomenal feeling. The girls battled their hearts out and they deserve it. They proved that they can battle through anything. We played three games to get here, and they just played with heart and left it all out there. We're so proud of them."

On Laura Shane, the tournament MVP:

"Laura Shane, our goalie, just played out of her mind today. She proved she's one of the best in the country and the best in our conference. It's so great to see her go out this way as a senior. We're so proud of all our seniors. We couldn't have asked for more."
