BERKELEY - California senior midfielder Cristen Andrews was named to the 12-player MPSF Women's Lacrosse Championship All-Tournament Team on Saturday, as chosen by the six conference coaches. The all-tournament team was announced after third-seeded Stanford defeated top-seeded Denver, 9-8, for the MPSF championship on Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley. This marked the third consecutive year in which Stanford upset top-seeded Denver for the conference tournament title.

Stanford senior goalkeeper Laura Shane was named 2008 tournament MVP after making 17 saves in the Cardinal victory.

Host Cal (9-9) lost both its games in the conference tournament, falling to Stanford, 11-8, in the May 1 semifinal round and dropping a 9-8 decision to Oregon in the May 2 third-place game.
