BERKELEY - California senior goalkeeper Morgan Dyson was named co-MPSF Player of the Week after tying her career-high in saves in the Golden Bears 13-12 overtime sudden victory against No. 18 Oregon. Dyson posted 16 saves, matching the career high she set earlier this season. Dyson ranks third in MPSF play in saves per game (7.44) and fourth in save percentage (.416). The Golden Bears' win helped them claim the No. 3 seed in the upcoming MPSF Tournament.
Dyson shares this week's honors with Oregon freshman midfielder Jana Drummond.
The Chicago product has started in all 16 games this season. Dyson posted a shutout in Cal's first game of the season against MPSF foe Fresno State, a 19-0 rout of the first-year program. The senior goalie has a 12.90 goals-against-average, which ranks fifth in the conference.
Cal begins MPSF Tournament play this Thursday, April 23, aginst Saint Mary's at 3:30 p.m. at Cagan Stadium in Stanford, Calif.
