BERKELEY - California opens Mountain Pacific Sports Federation action when it hosts UC Davis at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 4, at Memorial Stadium. The Golden Bears bring a 2-0 record into the game. The Aggies currently have a 1-1 record and will play Le Moyne College on Tuesday and Siena College on Thursday before coming to Berkeley.

The Bears defeated Le Moyne, 14-5, last Sunday at Memorial Stadium.

Reifsnyder Named MPSF Player of the Week
California senior Liz Reifsnyder was named the MPSF Player of the Week this week, after leading the Golden Bears to season-opening victories over Canisius and Le Moyne last Thursday and Sunday, respectively. A product of Washington, D.C, Reifsnyder scored two goals and collected three assists in the opener against Canisius and led all scorers with six points against Le Moyne. Reifsnyder, who had four goals and two assists against the Dolphins, currently leads the MPSF in scoring, with 5.5 points per game.

As a junior, Reifsnyder earned MPSF Player of the Week and Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week honors after scoring a hat trick in the Golden Bears' season-opening upset of nationally ranked Stanford in 2006.

Conference Leaders
Besides Reifsnyder's scoring lead, Cal paces the MPSF in individual goals-against average (senior Hilary Lynch, 4.55) and team GAA (Cal, 5.50) after two games.

Scouting the Aggies
UC Davis opened the 2007 season with a 12-6 loss to MPSF opponent Oregon on Feb. 18 in Eugene, Ore. The Aggies rebounded with a 13-12 overtime win over Canisius last Sunday.

Cal beat Canisius, 18-6, on Feb. 22.

In the win over the Golden Griffins, senior midfielder Megan O'Connor caused a Canisius turnover that led to freshman attacker Olivia Jarem's gamewinning goal at the 62:55 mark. O'Connor (4 goals, 1 assist) tied senior teammate Alden Monger with five points (2, 3). Monger is the younger sister of former Cal lacrosse player Halsey Monger.

O'Connor leads the Aggies in scoring after two games, with nine points (7, 2). Monger has a team-high three assists to go with four goals. Davis junior goalie Hilary Harkin has an 11.43 goals-against average after two starts.

Elaine Jones is in her sixth year as head coach of UC Davis.
