BERKELEY -

California women's lacrosse was tabbed fourth in the 2013 Preseason Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Women's Lacrosse Coaches' poll as announced by the conference on Friday. The Golden Bears tallied 47 points in the poll.

For the fourth straight year, Stanford topped the poll with 59 points and four first-place votes. Rounding out the top three were defending MPSF-champion Oregon with 55 points and three first-place votes and Denver in third with 53 points and two-first place votes.

In 2013, Cal will be armed with the return of 2012 MPSF Player of the Year senior Megan Takacs. After missing the final three games of the 2012 campaign, Takacs is back and looking to top her 53-goal junior season.

The Bears' season opener takes place on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 1 p.m. PT at James Madison. The home opener is set for Tuesday, March 5, at 4 p.m. against Saint Mary's at Memorial Stadium. The MPSF Championships will take place from May 2-4 in Eugene, Ore.
