Allison Comito Position: Assistant Coach Experience: Second Year at Cal Alma Mater: Maryland '02

A four-time NCAA champion and two-time first team All-American at the University of Maryland, Allison Comito is in her second year as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the California women's lacrosse team. A native of Glen Head, N.Y., Comito spent seven years as head coach Stony Brook University prior to joining the Golden Bear coaching staff under head coach Ginger Miles.

In her first year on the Cal coaching staff in 2012, Comito helped the Bears finish the campaign with an 8-8 record, including a 5-3 record in road contests. In addition, her efforts helped Cal standout Megan Takacs garner Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Player of the Year accolades.

Prior to coming to Berkeley, Comito was the head coach at Stony Brook University from 2005-11. She was named the America East Coach of the Year in 2007 after leading her squad to its first and only regular season America East Championship. Her coaching efforts helped Kaitlin Leggio earn America East Player of the Year honors.

Her coaching expertise extends to the international level, as well. Comito was an assistant coach for the inaugural Women's Irish Team at the 2009 World Cup in the Czech Republic. The Irish finished in the top five in the tournament.

Not only a coach but a true mentor of the game, Comito was the co-director of Stone Shore Lacrosse LLC - which held camps to teach youth players how to play lacrosse.

An attacker, Comito helped Maryland win four straight NCAA championships from 1998-01 and three straight ACC titles (1999-01). A three-year starter for the Terrapins, she scored the game-winning goal in double overtime in the national championship game in 2001. Comito's long list of collegiate accomplishments include first team All-America status in 2000 and 2001, earning All-ACC honors from 1999-01 and being named a member of the 50th Anniversary All-ACC Team in 2002. She also currently ranks in the top 10 in school history in career assists and career points.

The accolades began accumulating for Comito while she attended North Shore High School. In 1997, she was named an All-American (after earning All-America honorable mention honors the year before), Female Athlete of the Year and she led her county in scoring. She was later inducted into the North Shore High School Hall of Fame as a member of the inaugural class. Following her graduation from Maryland in 2002 with a degree in sociology, Comito returned to North Shore HS and led the squad to three successful seasons as its coach.
