WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Five California women's gymnasts earned honorable mention Pac-10 All Academic as announced today by Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hanson.

Senior Britani Pittullo, junior Justin Cephus and sophomores Siobhan Luce, Allison Szutu and Nicki Wells are all members of the Pac-10 All-Academic team.

Pittullo and Luce were consistent all-arounders for the Golden Bears this season. Pittullo posted a career-high 39.250 in the all-around competition against San Jose State on March 17. Previously, Pittullo recorded a career-best 39.075 in 2003 against Washington and Sacramento State. Against the Spartans, Pittullo posted a 9.800 on the vault, 9.775 on the bars, 9.825 on the beam and 9.850 on the floor. A week earlier at George Washington Univ., Pittullo recorded the first 9.900 (bars) of the season in any event for Cal.

Luce earned her career high against San Jose State, recordeing a career-high 38.725 in the all around. Luce tallied a 9.575 on the vault, 9.775 on the bars, 9.675 on the beam and 9.700 on the floor.

Cephus tallied a career-high 9.625 on the vault against Cal State Fullerton and twice recorded a career-high 9.750 on the beam. Szutu posted a career-high 9.700 on the floor against San Jose State. Wells notched a career high of 9.850 on the bars twice this season.

To be eligible for selection to the Pac-10 All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
