SACRAMENTO - The California women's gymnastics team took second in the Sacramento State quad meet Friday night. The Golden Bears (4-10) finished with a season-high final score of 193.700, while Sacramento State took top honors with a mark of 195.250. UC Davis came in third, earning a mark of 192.625. Seattle Pacific finished in fourth with a score of 190.075.
The best event score of the day for the Bears came on bars and beam with a 48.800. The score on beam was also a season-high mark for that event. Freshman Nassim Mirreghabie led the way for Cal on beam, tallying a season-best 9.825, which was also the highest individual score of the night for Cal. She placed third in the event among all gymnasts. Also on beam, junior Bridgette Glass earned a 9.775, junior Jessica Kelley helped with a 9.750 and freshman Stefanie Cheng and senior Siobhan Luce each garnered a 9.725. Cheng's score was also a season best, surpassing her previous season-high mark of 9.350.
"I was really pleased with their performance tonight; they were aggressive," said Cal head coach Cari DuBois. "Siobhan had her best meet of the year. She had three of her best performances of the season, and maybe the best of her career. She had a great meet and the scores don't reflect how well she performed. I was really proud of her. It was great to see Jessica back in the all-around. She hit all four, 4-for-4."
On bars, Glass and Kelley each notched a 9.800 to tie for second among all gymnasts. Luce contributed with a 9.775 and senior Nicki Wells earned a 9.750.

Kelley now owns the second and third best all-around scores of the season for Cal.
Luce posted scores of 9.7 or higher on all four events. She took fourth on vault with a 9.750 and tied for sixth with a 9.725 on floor.
