COLUMBIA, Mo. - The California women's gymnastics team took fourth in the Cat Classic, Friday night at the Hearnes Center on the campus of the University of Missouri. The Golden Bears (2-9) finished with a final score of 191.000, while No. 4 Michigan took top honors with a mark of 196.200. No. 14 Missouri came in second, securing a mark of 195.275. No. 22 Ohio State finished in third with a score of 193.725.

The best event score of the day for the Bears came on floor (48.100). Freshman Avery Gee led the way for Cal in that event, tallying a 9.700. Also on floor, senior Nicki Wells earned a 9.675 and senior Siobhan Luce garnered a 9.650.

The Bears scored their highest individual score of the day on vault, with Luce notching a 9.800. On beam, sophomore Sophia Hocini tallied a 9.775 and junior Bridgette Glass scored a 9.750.

In the all-around, Hocini finished first among Cal gymnasts with a score of 38.500, while Luce was second at 38.275 and junior Jessica Kelley was third with a final mark of 37.125. Missouri's Adrianne Perry won the all-around with a score of 39.300.

The Bears return to California next weekend to face UC Davis, Seattle Pacific and Sacramento State in a quad meet Friday, March 7, at 7 p.m. (PT) in Sacramento. Cal returns to Berkeley on March 16 when it hosts a quad meet against Cal State Fullerton, UC Davis and San Jose State at 2 p.m. at Haas Pavilion.
