As a SOPHOMORE in 2011, competed in all but one of Cal's meets, including competing three times in the all-around...earned Cal's top score on the floor of the season, a 9.900 in the home dual against Sacramento State...her 9.900, a career-best mark, was the first time a Cal gymnast scored a 9.900 on a routine since March 16, 2008...scored 9.750 or higher on all but her first floor performance of the season with six scores of 9.800 or higher...scored a career-best 9.775 on the beam at the meet in Washington...scored a career-best 9.750 on her bar routine in the home dual against Sac State...earned a career-high 38.750 points in the all-around at UC Davis. As a FRESHMAN in 2010, competed in all of Cal's meets for the season, posting All-Around scores in three of the final four meets...began her collegiate career scoring a 9.800 on her first-ever floor routine against Arizona State...scored a career-best 9.850 on the floor at San Jose State, matching the top mark for a Cal gymnast in any event during the season...posted a career-best 9.575 on her first vault of the season at San Jose State...closed out the year with a season-best 9.550 on the bars at the Pac-10 Championships....also had her highest All-Around total of the season at the Pac-10's, scoring a 38.600. HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Member of Airborne Gymnastics...she and her teammates were the 2008 state champions and finished in second place in 2009. PERSONAL: Born Oct. 9, 1991 in Watsonville, Calif....daughter of Cal and Zaharah Pierce...enjoys snowboarding...is dedicating the remainder of her gymnastics career to her grandmother who passed away Dec. 6, 2009 of liver cancer...undecided major. |
