BERKELEY - California freshman golfer Hannah Suh won the prestigious Joanne Winter Arizona Silver Belle Championship after scoring a 70-73-67=210 (-6) at the three round tournament held at the ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. Suh shot a final round 67 (-5) to move from 15th to first in the final day of the tournament, a 54-hole nationally recognized event open to qualified participants ages 13 to 23. "We're really encouraged by Hannah's play at the ASU Karsten Golf Course," California head coach Nancy McDaniel said. "We travel to ASU to play in their event in April, and it really gives Hannah and our team a good boost going into the spring. It's the start of what's going to be a great spring season and 2013 for the Bears! Signee Alice Jeong placed 21st overall after overcoming a first round hole nine to forget by scoring 79-70-69=218 (+2). The Gardena native will join the Golden Bears beginning with the 2013-14 season. California tees off its spring season at the Peg Barnard Invitational hosted by Stanford on Feb. 16.
