STANFORD, Calif. - The University of California women's golf team tees of for its fourth fall tournament on Friday, Oct. 19 when it begins competition at the Stanford Invitational. This is the tenth anniversary of Cal's only victory in the tournament, when they won in 2002 with a combined score of 885.
The 2012 Stanford Intercollegiate is a 54-hole event played at the par-71, 6,130-yard Stanford Golf Course. The tournament begins Friday, October 19 and concludes on Sunday, October 21. Competitors will play 18 holes each day with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
17 teams and several individuals will be participating in the event. California will be joined by Arizona, Arizona State, Georgia, Harvard, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Jose State, Stanford, Texas, UC Davis, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt, and Washington.
Cal is sending senior Jacqueline Williams, sophomore Morgan Thompson, senior Joi Pentin, junior Nicola Roessler, and freshman Hannah Suh to compete as the five team members. Sophomore Jo Eee Kok will also play in the tournament as an individual.
