ATHENS, Ga. - The No. 25 University of California women's golf team is traveling to Athens, Ga. to take on the field and shoot for their second tournament victory of the young season. The Golden Bears are set to play at the Liz Murphey Fall Preview hosted by the University of Georgia. Teams will play 18 holes at the par-72 6,335 yard University of Georgia Gold Course on Friday, Oct. 5, Saturday, Oct. 6, and Sunday, Oct. 7 to complete the 54 hole tournament.

California will face some of it's stiffest competition of the early season, which will include the number one ranked individual golfer, Lindy Duncan of No. 5 Duke. Joining Duke and Cal will be No. 9 USC, No. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 13 Virginia, No. 15 Auburn, No. 21 Georgia, No. 23 Texas A & M, No. 24 Oklahoma, and nine other schools to make up the 18 team field.

"We are excited to be invited to the NCAA Preview, that is an honor in itself," said head coach Nancy McDaniel. "We are coming off some very solid play after winning the Cougar Cup and look forward to getting better everyday."

Coach McDaniel has made a small tweak to her lineup following the Bears' victory at the Cougar Invitational at the Washington State Cougar Cup. Junior Nicola Roessler will take Cal's number one seed, and she will be followed by senior Jackie Williams, freshman Hannah Suh, and sophomore Morgan Thompson. Entering the lineup is senior Joi Pentin, who competed at the Cougar Cup as an individual.

The Golden Bears will tee off on the tenth hole at 6:40 a.m. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com
