Senior Daniela Holmqvist was named the Pac-12 Player of the Month after having a solid March that included a victory at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic. "Dani" transferred to Cal during the spring semester of her sophomore year and has has capped her collegiate playing career by breaking into the top-20 in the national individual rankings, moving up to No. 20 in the April 22nd rankings.
Here are some things you may not know about the senior from Sweden:
What made you first start playing golf? My grandpa introduced the sport to me when I was young, he was a senior European Team Champion.
What is your favorite kind of plant? Lavender
When are you happiest? When I achieve my goals and being surrounded by people I love.
What has surprised you most about college? The possibility of being able to work hard and achieve good results in both sports and academics.
What is on you iPod/phone right now? Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Avicii
What is your favorite food? Steak and a good salad.
What do you wish scientists would invent? A cure for Cancer.
Where is your favorite place to relax? By the ocean in Sweden.
What are some hobbies you have outside of your sport? Watching other sports and movies.
What is one word that can be used to describe you? Determined
What is your favorite Cal team other than yours? All of them, but I follow Men's Golf and Women's Tennis.
What is the best thing about being a part of your team? Being a part of a group of great people working together to achieve great things.
What challenges you to continue to improve? The rewards of hard practice.
What is the best piece of advice you've ever received? Treat others the same way you want to be treated. And Carpe Diem.
What is one thing you can't live without? My iPhone.
What is your favorite ice cream flavor? "Save The Nordic Sea" Ben and Jerry´s edition.
What is your favorite TV show? Inside the PGA Tour
