The No. 10 California Women's Golf team begins their spring season this week, playing in Southern California at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes, Feb. 8-10.

Cal will be in a field of fifteen teams that includes Arizona State, Colorado, Denver, Duke, Florida, Louisville, Michigan State, Ohio State, Pepperdine, TCU, UC Irvine, UCLA, USC, and Wake Forest. The teams will be competing at the 5,912 yard, par 71 Palos Verdes Golf Club.

Last season at the Nothrop Grumman, Cal finished seventh in a field of 17 teams with Pia Halbig and Shannon Yocum tying for the top finish by a Cal golfer, each posting a +22.

This tournament will be the Cal debut for Daniela Holmqvist. Daniela transferred to Berkeley at the semester from Tulane University where she was the Conference USA Golfer of the Year last season. Cal already had a potent lineup, coming into the spring ranked as the No. 10 team by Golfweek. Junior Pia Halbig enters the spring ranked No. 28 among individuals. Sophomore Joanne Lee is No. 44.

Live Stats of the tournament will be available through GolfStat.

The Bears projected lineup: Joanne Lee, Daniela Holmqvist, Emily Childs, Pia Halbig, and Jackie Williams.
