KAHUKU, HAWAII -

The No. 10 California Golden Bear women's golf team is in second place after the first 36 holes of the Turtle Bay Resort College Invitational. Emily Childs and Diane Kwon are in the top-10 individuals.

The Bears dropped three strokes off their opening round score, posting a 287 for the second round of 18 holes on the par-72, 6,361 yard Palmer Course at the Turtle Bay Resort in Kahuku, Hawaii. The Bears, who started the day in third place, edged into second, trailing UC Davis by six strokes. They are four strokes ahead of UCLA and USC.

Sophomore Emily Childs led the charge by carding a four-under 68 in her second round, moving her up into a tie for sixth place at -2 overall. Sophomore Diane Kwon remained in the top-ten, tying for ninth after shooting a one-over, 73. She is now even through 36 holes. Sophomore Joanne Lee shot a one-under 71 and is now at +2 for the tournament.

The competition concludes on Wednesday, with the action moving over to the par-72, 6,361 yard Arnold Palmer Course. Live stats will be available through Golfstat.com.
